Pros
Most highly recommend using a bevel guide of one sort or another. Seems to work well making sharpening a lot easier than by hand. The only issue is that it leaves marks on the back of the knifes since it holds the blade so tight.
Cons
It takes much longer to sharpen, and often less than good results after spending too much time in the attempt. If it damages the surface of the blade it's pretty much worthless. Can't handle a small blade, feels clunky when trying to sharpening.

The guide does help but for a really sharp edge after setting the bevels and polishing to 12 micron1200 grit i finish with 9 micron1800 grit
