Pros

Single hose units generally have an easier window setup. Dual hose is for faster cool down (moves more air) and minimizing negative room pressure. Control functions are available on both the unit and the remote.

It has handles in convenient locations. I'm surprised the unit came undamaged. Missing parts were shipped promptly.

Cons

Neither amazon nor the manufactures responds to my inquiries. Not to mention the pain of packing the 80lb unit into a box and moving it to a ups or fedex.

I'm used to getting about 5 years out of these portable units, i believe this one lasted only two. I assume it was a compressor failure or something along those lines. Unit fails to provide any cooling unless you are standing directly in front of it.

Packaging/appearance

The filters in the 126md(including the 3m microbial filter) suit me better than the whyntermodels that have the charcoal filters.

Competitiveness

Answered promptly and i was quite impressed with herdetailed technical knowledge of the whynter products.

This has been a lifesaver, rather than just a back-saver.

I'm 74 years old now and don't have the strength for dead-lifting 55-60 lb.
