Pros

The dual zone is perfect for us because sometimes we need a bigger ref than freezer. Works as a fridge/freezer. I cook at home freeze my protein and then decide on what's for dinner.

This unit does everything we needed, wanted and expected when it's working properly. Sent e-mail into the company and jose with whynter responded with suggestions very quickly. This type of personal service is unusual in our automated society.

The only drawback is that the compressor is not completely silent. Works great on ac. Used ac power from generator during the day.

Cons

Whynter refrigerator and freezer is junk. Chinese compressor seems to be running but there is no cooling. I actually suspect the unit has a temperature 'high limit' switch which turns off at a certain temp, but it's not possible to get anyone competen... Read More

Customer support isnonexistent. There’s no maintenance info or parts info online. They continue to blame the issue on my electrical current.

This is a heavy and bulky item and there is a considerble distance between their dropping point and the door they were supposed to use. Its by the dumpster at boot key harbor city marina.

The tip broke off on first use.

Right after the time the warranty expired, it stopped cooling.

So was $300 off of the advertised price.

A thousand miles later i arrived home, and the meat was perfect and ready to process.

He agreed, and said if it didn’t work, we could start the shipping process.

It was determined that the unit could not be repaired and jof had a new one shipped to me promptly at no cost.

Most companies offer worthless warranties but whynter stood by theirs.

Many name brand units can be rather pricey but i try to go for one that has good ratings and hopefully it will last more than 2 years.
