The manual warns that high temperatures will slow the machine down. However, it creates ice fast. Set your expectations right, this is a small unit.

Next morning2 hours = 1 quart mug filled with large ice ~1 pound. Water from the melting ice goes right back into the water reservoir to make new ice. Small ice cubes are cute little cylinder with a hole down the middle.

Whynter's compact icemaker allows my hubby to have some ice for drinks while in the man cave watching the game. Fits on kitchen counter nicely. Would make a perfect device for the office or deck or camping.

This unit puts out enough ice for everyone in the house+. Will work for luxury camping with electricity. One resident uses a lot of ice every day. Supplied ice for our new years party of 30 people.

While running it is quiet, the only thing you hear is the ice falling into the basket.

I bought one of these whynter ice makers almost 4 years ago.

So nice working with a company that stands behind its customers!

For those that this type of icemaker doesn't work, the only option i saw was a small stand alone commercial ie maker.

The whynter imc-270ms compact ice maker makes small tubular ice in less than 10 minutes.
