Pros & Cons
Pros
These are great for both beginners and intermediate, easy in/out design with the heel riser for those more familiar with trying to swim upslope. Got the 27 went backcountry snowshoeing in the eastern sierras. If you're on the fence for a pair of affor... Read More
Very durable, lightweight, and easy to use. Even with a couple stumbles, they feel sturdy yet light.
The ratchet straps are a great upgrade, can get in and out of the shoes just as quickly as the older system. The tie in to bind your boot is very easy to strap in and exit.
Cons
It's so annoying to constantly stop and bend down to readjust the back strap. The back strap is hard to adjust and on its own does not stay in place without the strap holders. They are brittle and in the cold of snow shoeing are even more brittle.
Very displeased and not made to be used in the mountains. Broken within 30 minutes of the first hike. There are some great hard packed trails but the beauty of snow shoeing is that you should be able to go anywhere and not sink.
Highlights
Quality
Easy to use , adjustable, excellent quality with sturdiness, light weight, makes winter fun.
Very durable, lightweight, and easy to use.
Took these snowshoes out for a second time and one of the rivets popped out half way through my hike.
All of the straps had to be readjusted each time because the boys just couldn't get them on reliably.
Price
They were exactly what i needed and a great price for someone wanting to try something new.
Overall a decent snowshoe for the price.
For their price, if you do not need to use them every weekend there is snow on the ground for 10+ years, i can't recommend them enough.
Shipping
We contacted wildhorn customer support and they promptly took care of it.
Because they are based in the us, the communication was quick and easy, and they sent me a replacement pair that arrived in a day.
Something happened with my first shipment and although i did not receive them in time for the day i was hoping for, they were q... Read More
Packaging/appearance
Out of the box they look great!
I got the 21" but due to my weight (160) and a full pack, i'll probably go up a size for fresh powder hikes.
Competitiveness
I plan on taking them out again and comparing with my tubbs.
I have several other pairs of snowshoes that were cheaper than these but these are much better.
I picked up goggles from wildhorn 2 ski seasons ago that have been great (at a fraction of the cost of other brands) so i’m exp... Read More
