Pros

The bottom sole is as durable if not more than a shoe there is very little flex but it is very well secured to the fin again very durable. These are good for snorkeling but probably not for scuba diving.

They velcro around the ankle so they keep the sand out and stay on my feet. When the fins take in water and the drag slows you a bit, so you just have to re-close the velcro. No more duck walking or being knocked over by waves trying to put them on.

Cons

The soft fabric part rubs against the heels causing blisters. Ruined our trip to hawaii.

The fins are just too small for propulsion. They just lack the power to swim in a flutter kick. The constant release of the straps while diving is very frustratiing.

Old style fins had become such a hassle for me when snorkeling that i completely stopped using them and instead wore reef shoes.
