The dome covers it on the outside, and i used some peel-n-stick weatherstripping on the dome lip as the installation instructions suggested. Works so much better than thee old batwing antenna on our motorhome.

Easy to install and seems to have a little better signal…not as much improvement as i expected from a 12 year newer unit

If you need to replace your antenna i would recommend this item but i don’t think that the small gains justify the expense for just an upgrade

It was not the pedestal type antenna which was stateoftheart back in 2017 but this newer unit which is about the size of a large family salad bowl turned upsidedown
