Overall, we are pleased with the winegard antenna.
I don't get as many channels as some but considering where i live in conjunction with the towers, super pleased!
I didn’t notice a difference, but the tuner did show that the channel quality was about 20% better with this antenna.
The number of hd channels being picked up depends on your location, but the picture quality is very impressive.

Was hoping it would be better but i returned the item,.
Competitiveness
I have a winegard antenna without amplifier which works very well and bought this amplified one, which is even better.
With the competitor's antenna, reception was unreliable and subject to weather conditions.

It was not it was the worst one ive ever owned wed walk through the room and lose the signal it was huge and obtrusive it regularly dropped channels

Didnt like where it was so i moved it to a different window where 6 channels were found i lost the french station

Small command strips were provided to hang the antenna to the wall and it would be nice if an extra strip was included for a total of three strips not two as one of the two strips didnt hold very well

I tried one that claim twice the distance but it received fewer channels that the winegard fl5500a
