As an adult who learned as a child it is a great refresher. Easy for everyone to figure out readers and non readers alike. My 5yo even wins sometimes!
The game is enjoyable and does a great job of teaching the basics of chess in a very fun and easy to learn way. Better than online videos to teach kids chess. Bought it to teach my 7 year old granddaughter & myself.

The pictures help beginners learn how to set up the board correctly. I believe it even is a double sided board. This is a great progression because it allows for some strategic thought, but doesn't open wide the doors. It builds that strategic muscle.... Read More

Quality
This is such an amazing chess teaching game tool and it makes it possible to enjoy playing chess and learning this amazing skill.
The learning process is great and allowed us to easily transition to regular play.
The only "bad" thing i can say is that the deck of cards is so stiff that they are really hard to shuffle the first few times.
The learning side of the board has the names and pictures of the chess pieces on the square for initial setup.

I bought two games, one on july 28,2023 for $14.
Packaging/appearance
I bought this as a gift for our giving tree at church for a teen aged girl, and it looks like it will be a good gift.
The box corners came loose and my son easily misplaced a queen that he had in the box.

I even play by my self making one move by the card dealt then i try to make an attack move without using a card being dealt

The board has one side for beginners which shows where the pieces go and then the other side is more advanced
