We moved into a newtous house last year that has been remodeled a bazillion times and at some point all the door chime wires were cut and hidden within walls

What floored me then after plugging in the door chime with the button in my hand it just started going off

In fact my children found out that you can just hover a finger in front of it really close and itll still go off

To change the chime sound you simply touch the music note on the receiver and cycle through the chimes until you find one you like

I havent had a stranger come up and ring the bell yet and i bet that at first they would question what that white box is but the symbol on it is a bell and thats easily recognized and i think that a stranger would be trained to touch it pretty quickly i did wonder if somebody would walk up and really jam on it with their fingers but again it is pretty instantaneous that one realizes you just have to touch it

Always remember that if this happens to you if you dont want to scroll through all the chimes just unplug it plug it back in and itll go back to factory settings
