Packaging/appearance
Part of the weight was packaging - very well packed and arrived in great condition.
Leave the left overs in it and throw them in the fridge.
Assembly & installation: you pull this out of the manufacturer's packaging and give everything that touches food a good hand wash.
Competitiveness
Great personal or christmas gift, even for a professional chef!
It's astounding all this can do as compared to anything else on the market!

Theres little question in my mind that this slow cooker is way overpriced but having said that it does have a few features that may make it worth the price for you anyway

I think the major reason to consider buying this unit would be the stainless steel cooking container

Nearly every slow cooker on the market uses a kind of clay surface for cooking food and while it may be naturally more nonstick than stainless which youll definitely notice if you make rice in it the one function im not a big fan of so far its definitely not more durable and there is some concern in reviews that the clay could leach stuff into your food

But then again im not a materials engineer so id cant really vouch for the veracity of that and the cooker is more than 10x as expensive as many other units on the market so from a strictly financial perspective it might be cheaper to just keep buying new cheaper cookers than to buy this one once

For whatever reason there doesnt appear to be a lot of options in slow cookers that dont use clay cooking surfaces
