Pros & Cons
Pros
Comes in a great carrying case. Nice zippered case and in the 3rd inside pocket there is a folded up note reference. The soft case is "meh" but the whistles have a sweet "recorder" feel to them. The zipper pouch is a plus.
Woodi is an excellent brand. I would very much like to see an additional line of low whistles coming from this manufacturer in the vicinity of this price range. I like that this product is a little fatter than other tin whistles and makes it easier to... Read More
The woodi whistles are a must have in every whistler's collection. I find these whistles to be very forgiving. They are a clarke d whistle with a wooden mouthpiece.
Having whistles in multiple keys is a nice bit of diversity. The * is the same, but the range of sound between c and d whistles has been fun to experiment with. Only issue is the wrong * chart was in the case.
I'm a novice whistle player, but even i can see that this is a good whistle. I prefer this whistle on more mellow songs such as scarborough faire.
Cons
There was a ton of flashing on the holes. The lower octave is fine, but when you get to the upper register the notes are accompanied by an underlying sound of the sort you'd imagine coming from a donkey sitting astride a cactus. Maybe the issue is i a... Read More
Highlights
Quality
He loves these and says that they're tone and quality is great, especially for something this affordable.
One can't go wrong with this product.
If you're comfortable with the price point and you're okay fiddling with a tuner app on your phone, i'd say give it a shot.
If you normally have a harder time with the higher octave notes then these whistles will probably be frustrating.
Price
Ultimately the price is absolutely worth it for a beginners instrument.
For the cost, you cannot go wrong!
But what i thought i was getting for this price was something a bit cheaper and just a toy for me to practice with.
Shipping
It is great for playing songs that are meant to be fast and high.
I didn't expect it so fast, but that's good.
Competitiveness
These little whistles are really comparable to the more expensive susato line.
They do take a solid embouchure toget to the top end of the second octave.
I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a pocketable, rugged, fun musical instrument - somehow i envision one of these pipes tu... Read More

The only learning curve ive encountered is making sure my fingers completely cover the holes if the holes arent completely covered then it will not produce the correct sound

They are in fact completely made of plastic

However i am confused because it seems that they put an insert into the case for a recorder not a whistle

You have intentionally to try to over blow them

These whistles are solidly made from woodgrained plastic

The higher octaves had persistent overtones and squeaking persistently sounding like a train whistle

Part of this is that notes on a woodi whistle definitely appear to be dirtier than on the clarke ive included a frequency spectrogram of a scale on both the woodi and clarke dwhistles and the woodi definitely has more issues with overtones and harmonics
