It expands to the right width, at least to me, and the spring seems right and not excessively tight. I use it for my lace-up leather boots and they fit nicely though a little tight.

These are shoe savers! These are nice quality, too. These are a bargain especially if you can get the miles out of your shoes.

There are used on red wing beckham, blacksmith and the 10875. All of the edges are rather sharp, so i took a little sandpaper to break them. The cedar is aromatic and lasts long.

The width prevents the tree from being able to fully fit down into the toe of the shoe. The heel is very narrow and could cause strange distortion with a tight fit. They are much too big and too wide for my size 6-6.

These are not allen edmonds. No where on the box is allen edmond even credited. The only reason i gave it 2-stars is because i believe they are solidly made and operate well.
