Given the application and speed of the shaft, delrin is an excellent bearing material, so i’m not worried.
The new set has a nylon gear as a built in weak point which should prevent major damage to the rest of the machine.
After putting it back together with new grease i tried adjusting the speed control and it broke at the screw mounting.
The old gear set had all steel gears and stripped the pinion gear.

Very happy that i didn't need to spend $100s on a new stand mixer.
