His writing does not follow the usual multichapter arrangement where you can easily stop and take a breather the story simply continues and the reader goes along with the ride

The gist of the story is that the king of lancre is killed and his infant son is accidentally given to the three witches above and is then left in care of a band of travelling actors

Reading the above description is sounds quite serious but being pratchett even though there is a lot of deeper thoughts going on it is still a light and easy read

Its still a fairly early representation of her but we see the beginnings of the strong character she is going to be and is much more herself if you know what i mean than she was in equal rites
