I chose the xsense because of the good reviews and also because reviews mentioned they could easily be stuck to the ceiling and i am not able to screw them in

My only query is with the battery as advertised the battery life is 10 years however the instruction booklet does not mention any battery life and merely states that the battery should be changed upon a lowlevel warning however there are no instructions upon how to change the battery and i cannot see any means by which one can open the alarm

It comes with a back plate that you can screw to the ceiling and then the main housing pushes and turns to clip in place – this ‘push and turn’ also activates the battery as there is a push button which is depressed in this action

So the alarm itself has a 10 year battery and if we all remember please come back for an update the alarm sound is recognisable as a smoke alarm and lets out a piercing noise and now i know what 85 decibels sounds like

Its turned of by a simple press or two presses in the video

When the alarm is active not activated the red light flashes about every 30 seconds to remind you that it works
