After reshuffling the cards it and the drivers you must download from intels support site installed smoothly yes they expect you to download drivers for a new network card onto a system that doesnt have a working network card but then i was more or less on my own

I managed to successfully team the two ports using lacp many other mechanisms are apparently supported and get the pair talking at 10gb to a lag on a netgear xs712t 10gb switch but only after a moderate amount of trial and error and frustration
