Pros & Cons
Pros
The controller is the only moving part likely to wear out, and it's inexpensive to replace at around $30, per the salesperson i spoke to.
After that issue is fixed the filters sit securely. An open chimney flue allows the make up air to enter the home via a backdraft.
The range hood is warranted for 2 years, and the fan motors are warranted for 10 years. The unit is well built and fan noise is bearable. It's not that the fan is unduly loud, all fans get noisy when moving that much air.
Cons
Problem with the lights is a deal breaker for me. Keeps flickering then goes off. The switch * are gone after a couple of years.
