It is reasonably easy to install. Car is protected by cushioned contacts. Drove the bike across the country from denver to maine without a problem.

Right dial locks itself, the left dial is more difficult to unlock. Does not work with modern day mountain bikes. That little fact should be disclosed by yakima up front.
