    There is a black lever on the face of the rack when you pull this up you can angle the entire rack away from your car especially useful when i need to retrieve something from the back of my suv note you cant do this with your bikes loaded

    After you lift your bike up onto the rack and position it properly then youre required to insert 3 straps to hold the bike they call the straps zip strips
