It goes in most of the way but then it gets bound up and you have to twist and mess around with it a little before it will continue sliding back into the hitch stem

Good product my yakima bike carrier didnt have the slot needed to install the lock so i cut out the slot and made it work it will keep the lazy thieves at bay but someone that really wants the bike locked up they can get it

After buying and installing this its fairly obvious not including this with the original product was a cost cutting measure

Like others have said not gonna stop the pros but if your sitting in a restaurant in full view of your truck this should work fine
