Pros

One tie-down strap is provided. Place heaviest bikes on first. Follow directions because it will help stabilize the load.

The rack is very sturdy and swings down easily to access the rear door of my suv. Easy to open trunk with tilt down option. Very sturdy on the highway on the back of my pickup, so it's way back there.

Cons

Nice outfit but hopelessly useless for todays largeer mountain and electric bikes. My family has 3 mountain bikes neither of which fit without the special adapter piece that costs $50 dollars per unit. It is impossible to insure that the 2.

Product documentation is outright awful. Yakima logo sticker begins to peel off within the first week of use. The similar thules that i am seeing around seem to have held up much better than this one.

The locking mechanism is on the bottom / lowest point of the rack. There is a metal fin that hangs down even lower to protect the red knob locking mechanism. This thing flops like a fish out of water when fully loaded.

I e-mailed customer service about the problem. The seller did issue an immediate refund. I think it is unfair and i equate this as hidden fees.
