Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Hully rollers hold the kayak in a flat low profile. The roller part is useful, but some drag remains. "once it's up there, everything is solid.

The sweetrolls are very nice. It's pricey but totally worth it. Highly recommend. Will post pics soon.

Four pieces that clamp on to roof rack. I regularly load a 18' ling kayak on a jeep wrangler with these. Simple design and features that facilitate loading and unloading a kayak or canoe from a roof top rack are outstanding.

Easy peasy. But it’s still easy without. Allows one man loading and unloading. Reduced risk of knocking out a window or injuring myself.

Cons

To securely hold my kayaks i have to tighten my straps to the point where the kayak is significantly deformed. The rollers are basically useless for boat loading.

It's a good idea that falls far short of execution. Installation instructions and warranty paperwork is all torn up and the product itself appears dirty. Very disappointing to say the least.

Quality

Perfect solution, well built and easy to install.

These are easy to install and makes loading kayak by myself a breeze.

I've had two of these racks on my honda ridgline for a couple of months now.

Before, i couldn't take the kayak off the foam blocks because they caused so much resistance the kayak wouldn't budge no matter...  Read More

Price

Ultimately, this is a very expensive product.

While i never though i'd spend close to $400 for four pieces that clamp on to my roof rack, loading is so much easier.

Packaging/appearance

Packaging was intact and the racks were wrapped in cardboard inside the original box.

One strange thing, i opened the box and the gear was covered in dust, but packaged perfectly.

Was disappointed with the fact that the item and box was used, and returned and sold as new.

Competitiveness

Fittings and hardware are what makes yakima a superior and popular supplier for leisure and recreational accessories.
