Pros

These are the first crossbars i've had experience with. Mounting the yakima 8053002 rack was ridiculously easy too. I mount a yakima skybox lopro on it and use it to haul skis.

This rack really is as quiet as advertised. With my sunroof open, i start to hear it at about 40mph. I still get 55 mpg and they are silent.

The next version will be manufactured by yakima. This is the best customer support you can hope for and acknowledgement that the vendors website led to the error. Great update to older product lines.

The end result is quite aesthetically pleasing and has proven to be very quiet and functional so far. They look very nice - sleek, low profile, and much nicer looking than any of the alternatives i've seen.

Cons

Failed on highway - flew off the roof and destroyed my expensive surfboard. Am worried they will disintegrate under the *. These should last more than 2-3 years, seems dangerous for this part to crumble.
