Pros

These yaktrax are built better/to last, they have thick chains that won't wear out quickly like the thinner spring type. Seem really durable. But these seem a little heavier duty.

The yak trax are the best ice grippers i have found. Good traction on all but the blackest of black ice. Great traction on semi icy trails.

In colorado in the winter it sometimes impossible when the snow melts and the streets turn to ice. We were forced to walk the paved paths in our local park. My back yard becomes a skating rink in thewinter. These are the best for walking on iced walkw...  Read More

Cons

Red yaktrax are great for snow or ice that is crunchy and really bad on smooth ice! By the end of the third week there were three(3) breaks of the welded links. The xl are too small to fit over size 14m shoes. It's an awful driveway and i hate it.

Hope they hold up well as while they're not expensive, they're not cheap either.

Shipping

I got these for the blizzard but the blizzard hit before these arrived & in fact, delayed shipping.

They arrived after & the weather hasn't been as bad since so i haven't had to use them.

The yaktrax made it safe for me to retrieve my mail.

Competitiveness

Especially as it was not as aggressive or bulky as the spike variants i've seen while looking for this.

After much debate as to which microspikes to get i chose the chain

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Well it was the right choice as it does well over varied terrain going to ice mud and everything in between

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Ive long used yaktrax for traction on snow and ice but as a mail carrier i found that i would go through about a pair a month as the traction coils on the original design would wear and break resulting in sharp points that will rip and damage floors pant legs or shoes if you happen to move one across the other foot
