    They seem very durable and this is a place where the city throws down pebbles and grit everywhere so the rubber and coiled wire is constantly being assaulted by those jagged little bits of rock

    I have taken many nasty falls on the ice in the past without something like this but these make you feel absolutely rooted to the ground with each step on any kind of snow and ice
