Don't be fooled by the manufacturer claim that because it is aluminum it won't rust. I have woolly socks that are much softer. Couldn't withstand the fl heat.

This isn’t going to stop anyone determined to gain access to anything but it’ll at least slow down the more casual and opportunistic of thieves

I’m fairly certain one could pop it open easily with a 6lb sledge and a punch or something of the like

Like any lock i am sure that someone with the right skill set or tools could pick or cut the lock but the point here for me was not to create something that is impenetrable at a cost that would be greater than what is being secured but simply to act as a deterrent to anyone who might think of opening the storage area to see and possibly take something
