It allows you to enter the unlock code without having to even look at the panel. The door sensor lets you know door open/close events or status. For deliveries, we give drivers a code that opens just the breezeway.
The august kit includes the module, a august connect module (which i didn't need) and door sensor magnet. Physical installing the module is fairly simple, it sockets into a spot under the battery cover.
The august lock lets you lock, unlock, share secure access and monitor activity. Allows you to open the door for a housekeeper or neighbor when you are on vacation. Great big button to mash to switch from one to lock and unlock.
This lock opens an exterior sidedoor to a breezeway. This lock is next to my august smart doorbell which also serves the same august to wifi bridge function. I'd recommend these assure lever connected by august yale locks to anyone that forgets keys.
Cons
Both fail to automatically lock on a regular basis. The connection to the connect is flakey. There is no place to connect a back up battery!

It’s super nice very well made and easily programmed.
The metal parts fit together firmly, and feel smooth and sturdy as they move.
Bad: the instructions for setting up the lock are not great, and for the august connect part the instructions are completely non-existent!
One of my biggest hesitations to using a lock like this has been what happens when the batteries die.
Price
Good: good price if you can get it on sale.
It's a little pricy but i have had zero issues with it.

This item is actually two separate products from two different companies boxed up together.
We did not link it to any other systems (google home, apple home kit, etc).
Overall i'm over the top happy with these yale locks and will definitely consider other yale products in the future.

It has a smaller footprint than my previous lock from yale which was not homekit compatible

When i pull in the driveway it unlocks the door automatically based on my arrival home and then auto locks after 2 minutes whether i open the door or not

Be sure to have a strong wifi signal and an outlet between your router and august lock and follow directions for setup in the exact order stated
