Pros

Since i angled the speaker, the sound is very even and omni-directional. They put a small lip on top of the cabinet so if there's something sitting on top it doesnt rattle off. Is loud and reproduces low frequencies very nicely.

This solves the problem. This works great. This seems to work pretty smoothly. A great and wonderful powered subwoofer.

If you just want an in your face thumper then this probably isn't the sub for you. This sub delivers punchy and clear sound.

The amaze comes from its musicality. Nice clear bass, solid low freq.

Cons

After 3 weeks of frustration, returned product. They clearly are willing to lose customers over a design defect that is their fault. My advice is to avoid yamaha altogether.

With my surround system this is beyond a shadow of a doubt the best subwoofer on the market and i've tried several.

This sw 315 replaces an “old” (1986) ads 12”, 300 watt subwoofer that electrocuted itself one fall day last year.

Price

Would recommend it to anyone for the price.

I was going to buy a cheapie at 100 bux, but convinced myself that i dont want to have to buy a sub again so paid i lil more.

You will be very satisfied especially if you can get it for under $300 like i did.

To much bass for smaller rooms no distortion price is right

It arrived to australia within 5 days and with no complications.

I do not remember how it was shipped.

This sw315 was shipped ups and needless to say i was watching the tracking like a hawk.

But when i advised amazon of this, they came through, as only amazon can, and shipped a replacement within several days.

Packaging/appearance

Btw, the box for my original order arrived in a pretty sad condition.

I think it was open box and the price was right.

Competitiveness

Would buy again from amazon and would not buy another brand of sound system if it's not yamaha
