Pros & Cons

Pros

The guitalele has the same neck width as a full size guitar but is shorter. Some say you have to put the half metal and half nylons strings on it. It has a ukulele feel with the nylon strings but a much deeper sound.

It's cosmetic for the most part. Segovia plays a yamaha, on occasion, btw.

Yamaha gl-1 comes with a nice little gig bag and some instructions. Only issue is that the carrying case that it came with didn't come with a shoulder strap.

I can not overstate it; this is a quality instrument! Yamaha does a great job at offering fair priced instruments with quality and sound that rival higher priced products.

Yamaha's careful manufacture and the lovely solid spruce top. The top has nice strait grain.

Cons

This instrument has very poor fretting and intonation even compared to a lower priced ukulele. The tone is plink - plink- plink. The cordoba is a better instrument and costs the same.

Pretty amazing sound, highly recommend picking this up if you want to go around playing a small guitar.

This has allowed me to navigate guitar tabs and learn more about guitar, with the comfortable ability of use.

Tuned it a step below my full size guitar and but medium tension d’addarrio pro-arte strings.

As you do with any guitar, you have to break it in consistently over a week or two to get it to hold a tune.

This thing came quicky to me in hawaii, and it is in perfect condition!
