Pros

There simply is zero distortion, zero hiss, zero fuzz. The sound is very respectable for a bookshelf hifi speaker.

Ch avr. Now the dialog is understandable. I like the fact it comes with 2 different sized top plates.

Try placing these 3 to 5 inches from a wall or in the corner of your room. I use these with a pioneer sc35 receiver and they sound great for the money. They sound nice through my laptop.

I use two for front speakers, one lying horizontally as a center speaker with its woofer on the right so its tweeter can be above its midrange. Two for surrounds, and two for surround backs. Running 6 speaker stereo in bedroom.

For a budget of under $200, these are a bargain. They perform far, far better than that price bracket would suggest. I'm a serious fan of anything made by yamaha, so i figured they would be a safe buy.

Cons

They are too lightweight, the cabinet is very thin and cheap.

I purchased these speakers for our sun room and had a difficult time finding any speakers with an 8-inch woofer.

But they're not 1-star speakers out of the box.

I have to take issue with a 1-star rating of these speakers by rantin' n ravin.
