The bolt-on neck is tapered, and has 24 frets (two full octaves), which is good for someone who uses glissando as much as i do.

Overall, this is a very good instrument for under $300 usd.
This is an excellent bass, especially for the price.
The neck is quite nice for a 180$ bass and the tone isn't too shabby either.
Ah well, it is a budget bass so not everything is perfect.
Packaging/appearance
Right out the box it was more or less ready to go, no fret buzz or anything.
Even though i'm not very gentle with it, it still looks every bit as good as the day i opened it, aside from some minor scratches.

The workmanship is quite high for such a low priced bass, it's actually got me looking into some of the higher end yamahas for myself lol.
