Pros
This is a solidly built transverse travel flute. It's german * i believe, and it's not difficult to learn at all. If you’re a beginner, the yamaha is for you.
Given as a christmas gift to my 12 yr old daughter, a flutist in school band. My interest is music for fife and drum, probably civil war era.
It's inexpensive, easy to carry in a backpack and will never let you down. For the price you don't have to worry about breakage or theft.
Low price makes this a fantastic deal. Arrives on time and in good condition. Too bad there were no amazon reviews in those days.
This is a real and basic fife as any type of a recorder has a fipple. I find my whistling to be more pleasant and in key after playing the yamaha fife. Pull up some of your favorite tunes and toot along with them with the $10 fife that can't be beat.
Cons
The yamaha flufe is not really a fife. It makes no sense to learn a unique instrument with a different * as a stepping stone.
