The cover is detachable and i washed it before putting it back on.

It arrives vacuum-packed, and when opened, it quickly expands to the point where, like in the picture, an adult can lie down!
But, it is vacuumed sealed and comes in a nice, zippered bag you could save for storage or transport.

Something to be aware of this does come heavily vacuum sealed feels hard as a brick and even after opening as it started to soften i wondered if it would ever get fully soft

My only other concern was the strong plastic like smell the bed had after opening it from the vacuums sealed plastic
