I lube the zipper with the silicone lube and clean the zipper with ethanol if is becomes sticky and reapply the lube.

I had a zipper fail on one of the earlier hopper models which was replaced with a newer model with the improved zipper.

Only problem with the cooler is that the zipper is very hard to open even with the provided lubricant placed on it.
