Not only does it keep ice even longer than the already outstanding cooler performance but it literally refreezes the runoff water from the top melts into an ice shell around it

Obviously you need to account for cooler size in terms of quantity so it gets expensive but yeti has a calculator on the site

With out this or even pre chilling my cooler the ice usually only last saturday to monday night
