It has a small base that you have to adhere to your cars dashboard and then a magnetic disc that rotates on the magnetic ball allowing you to position your phone the way you want to position it

Ive found that my otterbox defender case will hold but is not very secure with the metal piece placed between the phone and the case

I use the gps on my phone a lot and instead of holding my phone up every 10 seconds to see if im going the right way i tend to get lost when going somewhere for the first time the phone stays in front of me

I use it for my iphone 6 with a protective case on im pretty sure it would be able to handle the bigger 6 plus but cant guarentee it
