Pros

Was nicely packaged and seems to work fine, but display was scratched. Gm328 is an entirely different story. Though it is not in an enclosure of any kind it appears to be well constructed.

Most hobbyists will probably find the gm328 both interesting and useful. Every once in a while there is a tool developed that changes a hobby. Might be wrong to complain at this price, but here goes anyway.

The only things it hasn't identified are ceramic resonators, which it sees as capacitors, and linear devices like voltage regulators. I love how you just put any component (testable) in and it just tells you what it is and values. Polarity doesn't see...  Read More

This device is so fantastic that i would urge any person dabbling in electronics to get this device from the start. It's about the quickest way to sort a bunch of parts. Also very handy in checking the esr of capacitors in switching power supplies.

Cons

Un-reliable, * zif socket. Just use a dmm, save your dollars and put it towards a better meter.

Quality

This tester will auto detect and characterize: transistors, resistors, diodes, and capacitors.

This thing is cool, very easy to use and handy for testing components.

A little rubber cement and a non-conductive felt backing, and it's got a home on my bench.

O contact points on back of pcb are exposed if you set it down on something conductive, possibly leading to damage.

Price

I consider this an excellent bargain, and a treat to use.

Ti've been looking for a transistor tester for years, and had my eye on a us$300 unit that, alas, was discontinued by the time ...  Read More

I would pay double the price to get it with a case!

But for the price, i can understand why it doesn't.

Shipping

I took a chance on the yosoo gm328 based on the customer reviews; it arrived yesterday, and i tried it out last night.

Shipping took quite a long time, but that isn't their fault.

Packaging/appearance

Came in a anti-static bag and wrapped in bubble wrap.

The one i received had surface mount resistors and capacitors instead of through hole ones like shown in this picture.

O provided with attachment points if you want to put it into a box.

Competitiveness

I compared its capacitor esr measurements to a peak esr70 meter and they seemed pretty close.
