I washed it before using in wool friendly detergent and there was a slight lanolin smell for a couple weeks before it completely aired out.
I also tumble dried it with no heat for a while then i laid it flat on the bed to finish drying.
Price
All told, it is far better than i'd expected for the price.
I searched everywhere for an affordable wool and cotton blanket.
Then i learned about wool ones and they sounded perfect, but they are so expensive!
Seems like a good alternative for people searching for an affordable duvet that’s natural fibers and washable.
Packaging/appearance
Beautiful packaging in a microsuede carrying bag.

The single negative i can come up with is it only has 4 corner loops for a duvet cover instead of a more secure 8 loops like many others have and as a result it shifts in the duvet

I may try to add 4 more loops myself
