The wire of my headphones is abnormally thick which meant that over time the plastic had weakened and snapped from the pressure of being jammed onto the wire

I bought this to pair with my audio technica mth20s rather than shelling out 50 or 60 euro for a mediocre pair of headphones with a mediocre microphone thatd fall apart
