The upper threaded part is what broke on both, because the threaded parts are thinner than the rest of the plastic section. Must be the ball in the point. Such a bummer.

When they coupled steel with a junk plastic grip, this pen lost its ruggedness. I have medium hands and i find this too thin and the grip is too loose.

When it is working the ball no longer glides smoothly over the paper. It no longer lays down a perfect line of ink void of the splotches that plagued other, lesser, pens.
