Pros & Cons

Pros

This is a sophisticated little appliance that lives up to the hype. I prefer my basmati as separate grains. If you are in the market for a great rice, pouridge, quinoa or grain cooker, this is the one to get!

It cooks rice basically perfectly every time. My daughter usually does all the cooking for things not microwaveable. Each time, it keeps the rice warm for the day and cooked to perfection.

The reviews seem to substantiate its durability. The bowl is great quality, and the volume markings appear durable. Don’t use a metal spoon to scoop out the rice - it comes with a plastic scooper.

Cons

It cooks rice (not tasty though if you like having tasty rice) makes exploding sounds if the bottom of the inner pot isn't completely desert dry.

I'm so disappointed that a japanese company is putting out poor quality disposable products. It is very disturbing to find a spider is inside of display window. The build quality is cheap for made-in-japan.

Both options are expensive and totally inconvenient. Kicker is i’m paying to send it in and no rice cooker for the time being for however long they’re not sure. Unacceptable for such an expensive cooker.

Quality

) it’s one of the best and most durable kitchen appliances i’ve ever had.

This rice maker works great it is easy to use, clean and cooks perfect rice every time!

Hard to use, or made very poorly cooked rice with terrible texture.

Both made good rice at first, but both would up making the bottom of the rice an unedible yellow, stiff clump after awhile.

Price

This rice cooker is worth every penny.

So happy with this purchase, even though it was hard to swallow the cost.

It's worth the extra money over an 80$ one.

This device was pricey but worth it.

Competitiveness

I considered several different brands and strongly considered another asian brand but the menu for that one was too confusing.

I was also considering the other model with brown stainless exterior, which is usually a bit less expensive and is made in the us.
