It keeps liquids hot even overnight. I use it to keep my masala chai hot. Important for me no smell and keeps water hot the whole day.
This thermal carafe is fantastic. The glass vacuum liner is somewhat delicate, so the carafe must be handled with care.
Cons
The stopper stops working after a few months of regular use. The only way to close it is to unscrew and remove the cap, then physically tap the stopper. That dislodges it from its stuck position and its internal spring closes it. The metal siding also... Read More
It is inconveniently too small. Swivel on the base is an annoyance with no real value to me. Dislikes; it's just way too big on the outside.
My recommendation is to completely stay away from this poorly designed product. It is absolutely not worth the money even at a fraction of that price if the thing breaks down after a few months and the manufacturer refuses to make good on the purchase... Read More

First of all i’m fan of zojirushi,but this purchased i couldn’t give 5 stars ,it’s leak from the top,and it size to small .
Competitiveness
I love zojirushi products - they are always well designed and hold up to a lot of use.
We needed a 2nd thermal pot and it was a no-brainer to buy the same carafe again.

I make coffee directly in to it using a purpose built poor over filter holder

There is probably some way to remove it but it is only cosmetic and only visible when the lid is off
