Pros

This unit works better than most thermal urns. The coffee stays hot for hours. I use a filter holder for thermos, a # 6 filter, and it makes great coffee that stays hot all day.

Zojirushi is a well-known and respected brand in the industry. Known for its innovative and high-quality products. No problem with refund.

Good, solid, classic design. Does the job very nicely and looks good doing it. It is slim and easy to store. Easy to use/clean and stylish!

Cons

The lid is just hollow black plastic - no insulation whatsoever. Difficult to pour because of the lid. Dents all around on the exterior of the thermal and scratches on cover and handles. Good in keeping the water hot, but it has major flaws.

It is well constructed and keeps coffee hot for a long time.

After about a year it apparently lost its vacuum and was no longer functional.

There is simply no way for the dripper to fall off even if bumped, unless the whole carafe were to fall over.

The thermal serve carafe is no exception, and it lives up to the brand's reputation for excellence.

I own another similar carafe that is made in japan and i bought it way back in 1992.

However, i wish zojirushi uses a better lid (the push down lid in their other line) for this item.
