Pros

Everything comes apart for cleaning and the spatula that comes with it is genius! High less smell due to full lid and vent with filter. Low smoke due to water tray to catch drippings. It heats up quickly and easy to clean up as well.

Pay attention to the packaging notes when opening up. They show where tape is to be removed when unpacking. Works as advertised.

Since it is fully lidded with only a small vent with a filter at the top, very little of fish smell comes out of the unit. There still is smoke and smell but it is far less than grilling on stove top or in the oven. Reduces odor & easy to clean.

Fish roaster has top and bottom heating elements so there isn't as much of a need to turn the fish. It is a mechanical timer (not digital), but it works perfectly and gives a loud enough ding sound when it's done cooking.

- bottom floating reflector - this is made from aluminum and does not react to magnets.

The bottom radiant heat reflector floats on water so most of the dripping fat will not flare up.

This performance is excellent at a low price.

I must emphasize that this appliance has proven invaluable in terms of saving money on food costs over the years.

In fact, the amount i've saved on groceries alone would easily cover the cost of this roaster twice over.

The smoke is minimal compared to other options and the results are excellent.

Easy to clean compare the prior version.

But the result of fish grill was far better than sanyo one.

Though this is a listing for ef-vsc40, which is the older model, i was pleased to receive the newer ef-vpc40.
