Pros
The temperature controller works great for hot tea. Easy to use temp preset *.
Longevity, style, consistency, and cost are great recommendations for this company! That’s my only complaint. All of them are fantastic purchases!
Good design with easy intuitive controls. Easy to use, setup, and works as intended. I love the unlock function.
Cons
Its slow in dispensing water and the plug comes out easily if the unit is moved. The kettle itself is sunken in. When you plug it in, the outside of the boiler get very warm and my other one never do that.

The dechlorinate feature helps reduce chlorine and other impurities, improving the taste and quality of the water.
A previous zojirushi i bought for them in 2015 lasted for about 6 years before it cracked and water leaked out.
The vent on the top of the lid also releases steam that’s hot enough to strip the finish off my wood cabinets over time.
Price
That high cost of action is negated by the instant access to water at post boiling temperature on demand.
You can buy it cheaper in bulk.

The product itself is solid, but the shipping and packaging leave a lot to be desired.
Competitiveness
I owned other brand of water boiler before and this is definitely an upgrade.
Compared to other brands, zojirushi is expensive, but it will not fail or corrode like all the others.
I liked that more than other product.

I hesitated to splurge on a zojirushi back in the us because traditional electric kettles are so cheap and ubiquitous

But after several highlyrated electric kettles broke in some way or another within a few months of being used multiple times a day i like tea and even prefer to drink plain piping hot water over cold i decided to go for the zojirushi during a sale event

On the weekend i can leave the keepwarm function on to instantly warm up or brew a new cup of tea throughout the day—with its 3 liter capacity i rarely need to refill the device or reboil from scratch

The one thing i think americans might need to get used to is the need to unplug it to turn it off and to prevent it from boiling dry when low but in this case that means easily detaching a magnetic safety plug rather than unplugging it from the wall outlet itself so there’s little effort needed and minimal if any wear and tear to the device or your wall outlet
