Pros

Quick brew with stop-to-pour ability. It brews amazingly hot coffee that stays hot for at least 10 hours. Carafe keeps coffee drinkable hot through a morning.

Easy to program. Easy to fit in dishwasher. It's the easiest to clean one that i've ever had.

Aesthetically pleasing. Well built. My machine is at least 8 yrs old and still doing great.

Zojirushi is a trusted japanese kitchen small electronics maker. The stainless pot is a vacuum pot not just a double walled pot. You can use anything as a coffee pot - a mason jar, a thermos, a big cup.

Cons

The coffee maker is out of warranty. Only i seem to be able to work it correctly consistently. Replacing a coffeemaker this expensive every year just doesn't cut it.

Coffee pot occasionally overflows. Air bubbles block the flow of coffee, leading to an intermittent overflow.

I found a video on youtube suggesting a repair with a $3 part.

Mr coffee lives forever at half the price.

We burned through a few name brand coffee makers before discovering zojirushi.

So we paid a bit more than the standard 12 cup makers.
