Pros & Cons
Pros
Unit stands up to pretty regular use, so far cleans off super easy, and does a great job making all the rice we've tried making in it. The chimes are kind of cheesy, but do a better job of differentiating it from all the other items in the house that ... Read More
Best rice looker. Works without a hitch. The cooker is sturdy, well engineered, and you can even order replacement seals, parts.
This company is in japan, and they take producing there rice cooker very seriously and with pride. It is fail proof- plus the japanese measurements are slightly smaller than using u. S.
Cons
Ok, thx but no thx. The clock works, but the keypad doesn't. It is something you would find at the walmart layaway.
A board needs to be replaced, and warranty is only 1 year. Warranty support with this company is horrid. Called customer service and was given the dale carnegie treatment.
Zojirushi rice cooker is a waste of money. They are not interested in satisfying me as far as solving the flaking bowl syndrome. I will look at the sanyo brand, i understand the bowl has a thicker teflon. My old rice cooker made equal or better rice a... Read More
Highlights
Quality
I love the good quality of this product.
The pan is heavy and solid, easy clean.
The engineering in the cooker is exquisite and someone in management made a very bad decision.
Unlike our old cheap rice cooker that would steam over and even spill out over the counter, the zojirushi stays mess-free.
Price
Though $200+ is pretty hefty to pay for a rice cooker, they were pretty impressed by the how well it cooks the rice.
I can tell you that the improvement in taste was worth every penny.
It's pricey but so worth the money if you frequently cook rice.
Sure you can get a rice cooker for $20 bucks and be satisfied with the rice.
Shipping
The rice cooker was delivered on time as scheduled.
Packaging/appearance
Its packaged very well so less chance of any damage.
It is soldered to the motherboard and you have to completely disassemble the rice cooker to replace it or send it off to timbuk... Read More
Competitiveness
Big difference than other brands i had.
And far far better than korean cookers like couchen and cookooa.
We used two different rice cookers during the event, this one and a cheaper $50 one bought locally without many functions and timers.
Perhaps a zojirushi induction rice cooker can be compared to a vitamix blender competing with a $30 blender.

It is soldered to the motherboard and you have to completely disassemble the rice cooker to replace it or send it off to timbuktu to have it serviced but ours was probably out of warranty anyway
