Pros

This is a must have. The silky black color is glossy with a subtle glitter paint.

They are *very* well made and, as previously stated, simple to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning. The only downside is difficulty cleaning.

It works well no leaking. You can lock the latch if you have it in a purse or briefcase and not worry about leaking.

Cons

On a second bottle of the same design but different color, the vacuum insulating properties quit and i had to send it back twice, postage at my expense, about $14 via ups. I guess because it took so long to be delivered (6 weeks) it’s not returnable e... Read More

Zojirushi describes it as inert, but it’s only known to be inert for short exposure times. Probably will work as a mug, very messy to pour.

Speaking of quality, the quality is the best!

So, for long trips, i take a high quality thermos brand cup to drink from and when i finish, i use this unit to refill my drinking cup.

But yea overall the quality hasn’t been been as good as it used to.

Packaging/appearance

I've been using the zojirushi sm-sd48rc stainless steel vacuum insulated mug for over a year.

Very aesthetically pleasant however it is leaking a little right out of the package.

I used the cold first and over 24 hours later, it was still cold and there was still ice in the mug.

Competitiveness

Easy to drink from and coffee stays hot for a looooong time!

I was looking for a bottle to fit in the narrow side pocket for my fijallraven kanken backpack.

While i pour it in my zojirushi around 8:00, it's still hot at 11:00.
