I purchased this unit with the 4tb samsung surveillance hard drive preinstalled yes i can install a hdd but for the cost i got for the installed hdddvr i saved 25 im used to configuring port forwards or virtual server settings on my router for the cctvdvr system to be visual outside of my home network and have a ddns account as well you can still do add your ddns account to the zosi dvr but you really dont need it with this you all you need to create a zosi cloud account free then add your dvr device it has a qr code on the unit so its easy to add it to your account if you have a desktop computer you will download the avss software from the zosi website and again just add your newly created zosi cloud id and then follow the instructions on entering your dvr information if you get lost there are youtube videos on how to address thisdownload the zosi app you can use the qr code for this as well enter your cloud id information and you now have connectivity with your dvr system

Connecting all my existing 16 cameras was no issues the system recognized them and within a 2 minutes of powering up there was all 16 cameras you need to do some configurations like masking trees or other nonessential moving items so you dont get lots of false recordings this takes about 10 minutes to do all 16 camerasif you wish you can rename all cameras and adjust color settings as wellas for playback you can use the interface built into the dvr or use the avss desktop software you can playback on the smartphone app but not as effective as the avss or dvr unit playbackyes i had to contactemail supporti had some problems with playback and some other small configuration issues the zosi support team answered all my questions and gave me solutions to all my inquires i did have to upgrade my dvr firmware from 1
